Re: Totally Random Talk Thread

I've had a friend's cat come into my room at night through the window. Stealth-like. My heart skipped a beat when I saw a pair of eyes staring at me in the dark. Anyway, went to see The Lieutenant of Inishmore yesterday. Unexpectedly great black comedy and I decided to stage door - I rarely ever do ...

Re: True or False

No. But outside of Arashi, yes :) But back in my Arashi fan days, I think I only ever had Riida as my avatar... twice?

The next person likes/liked silent films.

Re: Would You Rather...

A year, possibly. But I'd need something to motivate me to get out of bed, like a proper job or backpacking and working, so I feel like I'm doing something worthwhile with my time.

Would you rather travel alone or in a group?

Yay.

Log flumes?
(Haven't been on one for years. They usually have some of the longest queues so we try for other rides instead.)

Re: First...

I've no idea... Possibly LOTR: The Two Towers. (And I was only into console gaming back in the 90's.)

Re: Who is your favourite Arashi member?

Riida. There's a certain je ne sais quoi (and grandpa vibe) about him.

Way back then, I spent a night marathoning Maou and immediately watching happy Arashi videos afterwards to remind myself Riida and Naruse Ryo are not the same people. His life is not a tragedy!

Sho's squishable chipmunk face. And I do mean that in a loving way.

Nino's sly laugh at other people's misfortunes / mistakes.

Re: Did you know about JE when you joined the fandom?

Was a Domoto Tsuyoshi fan and seen Kimura Takuya. I wasn't aware of JE until I saw Hanadan about 10 years later - the behind the scenes of Jun in his leopard(?) print jacket was what got me.

Re: Totally Random Talk Thread

I was chuckling along to that story until I read your last line... I love cats and dogs, but I'd be paranoid about owning one and having to be responsible for so many aspects of their lives. Like children, I suppose. _________________ Ooh, red wine ice-cream - I think my friend would drop her diet a...

Re: What TV shows/dramas are you currently watching?

Finished Ningen Shikkaku. That was quite the downer and I didn't expect you-know-who to die halfway through the drama! Teenage Tsuyoshi and Koichi were adorable though. I'm still trying to plough through Age of Youth 2 (started months ago) and American Horror Story S7 was a bit of a bore for me - As...

Re: Totally Random Talk Thread

I like rum and raisin / strawberry cheesecake / pistachio, but coffee was my favourite for a while. (Yes, I'm a coffee fan, but not a big drinker as no-one's coffee has matched up to my granddad's thus far.) But then I discovered pandan and sesame mochi ice-cream. My biggest disappointment was chees...

Re: Favourite and least favourite Nino hairstyles

No to the yellow, but I think ash blonde can suit him if done well. (Problem is you'll need some makeup on him to even out his complexion so he doesn't look too washed out / anemic / sallow with the lighter hair. Which begs the question of why bother in the first place... Although I'm aware the guys...

Re: Which Arashi member is your personality most similar to?

Parts of Nino/Riida, but mostly Jun. This is probably why I warmed up to him the least in those first few years as he probably reminded me of traits I didn't like looking at (although I was Jun-baited). I think I'm becoming more Nino as I get older. Personality-wise, I'm probably attracted to Aiba t...

Re: Mago Mago Arashi

I've never been that keen on pairings (save for Yama), but I did enjoy all of them on MMA. Especially the one with Riida doing all the work and Sho chilling with his barley tea. And Hina-chan's interactions with Aiba/Jun. However, my favourite member in this show was actually Nino. He had this sensi...

Re: General Chit-chat About Aiba

Just reminiscing about my Arashi fangirl days and I just realised I had gotten my helix piercings all those years ago after seeing Aiba's. I just adored the placement mid-ear. Does he still have it?

(Sho's navel piercing never caught on for me though.)

Scruffy. It was the Kiiroi Namida days and the guy looks as if he just rolled out of bed. Plus he was playing up the Matsumoto Jun fanboy role and calling him handsome.

(Then a few months later, he became my ichiban.)

Re: Totally Random Talk Thread

Haha, glad to know I'm not the only one. The thought had never occurred to me since it's sold in stores all year round. If they had taken it away for half the year like Christmas goods, I would've gotten the message... Funny thing is I reach out less for ice- cream over the summer season. Iced teas ...

Re: Totally Random Talk Thread

The heatwave here is getting worse and expected to get up to 34 degrees C next week. I'll be a fried fish. (My friend in Vietnam said weather got over 40 a couple of weeks ago though...) Do people repel at the idea of ice-cream all year round? My friends get weirded out when I eat in the winter (and...

Ningen Shikkaku - Domoto Tsuyoshi was my first drama crush back in the 90's and I'm in the mood for some old school KinKi Kids right now.

Re: Totally Random Talk Thread

I actually find cleaning rather cathartic, then to snuggle between the sheets after a nice, warm shower. But changing the bedding is the work of the devil. ---------------- I saw the production of The King and I the other day, and it's been playing on my mind since. Kelli O'Hara was... wow - the rev...
